Your missions

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

Collaborate with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Board of Trustees, and Executive Committee to drive strategic changes across all areas of the organization. This includes creating new strategies, developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), evaluating existing strategies, and communicating them effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with senior external stakeholders and work collaboratively with internal and external networks to further the strategic objectives of the organization.
Corporate Services Leadership

Set the strategic direction for the Corporate Services Division, overseeing key functions such as finance, procurement, capital investment, and income diversification.
Develop and implement operational strategies within the division, guiding discussions at relevant committees and boards, and ensuring that governance practices support the organization’s charitable goals.
Develop annual operational plans, set KPIs, and advise on financial governance to support informed decision-making by the CEO, Trustees, and other senior leaders.
Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high-quality customer service throughout the division.
Financial Oversight and Sustainability

Oversee the organization’s financial control environment, including annual audits and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Manage the financial business cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning, ensuring that decision-makers have the necessary financial insights to make timely and effective decisions.
Drive the implementation of digital tools and systems to enhance the Finance team's efficiency and impact, serving as a project sponsor for critical system upgrades.
Cultivate a strong financial culture across the organization, improving financial literacy and ensuring that financial insights are used effectively for decision-making.
Income Diversification

Lead the Income Diversification Unit to expand and maximize revenue from non-traditional sources, ensuring these efforts align with the overall strategy.
Oversee the development and execution of strategies related to grants, partnerships, commercial activities, and intellectual property.
Develop governance processes to assess the viability of investments and partnerships, providing assurance to the Board of Trustees regarding income diversification efforts.
Contract Management and Value for Money

Ensure robust procurement policies and processes, supporting effective contract management across the organization to deliver value for money and minimize risk.
Support senior staff in managing key commercial negotiations and escalating issues as necessary.
Governance and Compliance

Ensure effective governance practices, including the management of elections, meetings, and appraisals, while promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Maintain and enhance governance frameworks for the organization's subsidiaries and committees, ensuring compliance with charity law and internal by-laws.
Facilities, Health, and Safety

Chair the Health and Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting a safe working environment for all staff.
Oversee the modernization and sustainability of facilities to meet hybrid working demands and support the organization’s net-zero targets.
Manage the optimal use of facilities, including maximizing rental income from office space.
Additional Responsibilities

Serve as the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO), managing information governance, risk, and compliance with data protection regulations.
Lead negotiations related to pay and employment terms in conjunction with recognized unions and relevant committees.
This role is integral to supporting the strategic vision of the organization, fostering innovation, ensuring financial sustainability, and enhancing overall governance and operational effectiveness.

Your profile

Essential Skills and Experience
Qualified Accountant: Must hold ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.
Senior-Level Leadership: Experience operating at a senior level, ideally at Board or senior governance levels, with the ability to provide both strategic and operational leadership and advance a progressive agenda.
Communication and Influencing: Strong liaison and consultation skills, capable of effectively persuading senior-level stakeholders across various sectors.
Financial Management: Demonstrated experience in budget management, including budget preparation and forecasting, with a proven track record of reforming financial processes to enhance flexibility and support forward-looking investment strategies.
Regulatory Compliance: Expertise in financial reporting, statutory account preparation, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Corporate Governance and Risk Management: Extensive experience in corporate governance, financial management, risk management, and compliance.
Income Diversification and Commercial Strategy: Proven ability to develop and implement multi-year commercial strategies, diversify income sources, and achieve financial sustainability.
Partnership Development: Strong experience in cultivating critical partnerships and building substantial internal and external networks to advance organizational goals.
Strategic Planning and Execution: Demonstrated capability to create and execute strategic plans that align with the growth objectives set by the Chief Executive and the Board of Trustees.
Team Leadership: Significant experience in senior management roles and overseeing multi-disciplinary teams.
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write compelling reports and present information effectively to a diverse audience.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads, use initiative, and meet tight deadlines.
Project Management: Proven understanding of project management principles and experience overseeing complex projects in multi-project environments.
Quality Assurance: Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance procedures and systems.
Analytical Skills: Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
Performance Management: Experience in fostering a results-driven culture, ensuring that key performance indicators are met.
