Management Accountant

Your missions
The Senior Accountant will be a core member of the Management Team, reporting directly to the CFO. This role involves providing financial leadership across various functions, including general accounting, financial planning, budgeting, compliance, risk management, and more. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, producing accurate financial reports, and leading the financial aspects of the organization’s operations. Key duties include overseeing day-to-day financial operations, managing cash flow, handling audits, and collaborating with other departments to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial & Operational Management
o Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly business performance reports, KPIs, management accounts, and annual financial reports.
o Oversee budgeting, monitor fund utilization, and present operational metrics.
o Ensure financial records comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and charity-specific reporting requirements.
o Implement and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring adherence to approval processes and organizational policies.
o Manage cash flow, exchange rate risks, and ensure efficient cash forecasting.
o Direct departmental and project-based accounting, including foreign operations.
o Evaluate and enhance business processes for operational efficiency.
2. Team Management
o Provide leadership to the finance team, setting clear goals and encouraging a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
o Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to align financial operations with the organization's strategic plans.
3. Detailed Tasks
o Day-to-Day Financial Operations: Monitor transactions, oversee accounts payable and receivable, manage donation platforms, and process purchase orders.
o Banking and Reconciliation: Manage bank reconciliations, monitor fund movements, and handle cash transactions.
o Cash Flow Management: Ensure liquidity for operations and arrange funds for overseas travel.
o Payroll Duties: Process payroll, manage statutory payments, and handle benefits reporting.
o Audit and Compliance: Coordinate annual audits, ensure compliance with internal policies, and assist with regulatory reviews.
o Financial Planning and Analysis: Support in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Your profile
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and finance, with experience in the charitable sector being highly advantageous. They should be capable of handling complex financial operations, leading a team, and collaborating across departments to support organizational goals. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and the ability to implement best practices in financial management.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Proven experience in financial leadership, ideally within a non-profit or charitable organization.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and charity-specific reporting requirements.
• Experience in managing cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
• Proficiency in financial software systems (e.g., XERO) and familiarity with donation platforms.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities and experience in team management.
